Repeat Prescriptions

Repeat prescription forms are issued for prescribed drugs, which you require on a regular basis.

Repeat prescriptions will be ready for collection after (2 working days) if you have requested it on time and have had your medication review.

How to request your medication

Prescription requests must be in writing.

We can accept requests:

  • In writing (using yoru request slip- right hand side of the prescription)
  • By post
  • By fax
  • Electronic online request (if you are registered for an online account).

If you require the prescription to be posted back to you then please supply a stamped addressed envelope.  Prescription requests will not be taken over the phone.

Electronic Prescription

We are a electronic prescription practice. Patients can request their medication through the methods above. Rather than collecting the prescription from the practice, it will be transferred electronically to your preferred pharmacy. You just go along to collect it from your pharmacy.

Medication Review

For safety you are advised to have regular reviews, if you are taking long-term medication.  A message will appear on your prescription when a medication review is due and you should then book an appointment with the doctor who is prescribing your medication. The doctor will then discuss the medication with you and agree a monitoring plan. This may require you to have blood and urine tests. For some medication the doctor will only need to talk to you or check blood pressure or breathing.

Batch Prescribing

Batch prescribing, this is a new method of prescribing which allows us to give you prescriptions for 6 months, please ask your doctor about this.
